IS 13252 (part 1) is applicable to information technology equipment, whose demand is constantly increasing
Indian Standard IS 13252 is identical to IEC 60950-1: 2005 which includes specifications with respect to, “Information technology equipment — Safety — Part 1: General requirements.” This International Standard was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in accordance with the recommendations of the Computer Hardware, Peripherals and Identification Cards Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.
As mentioned, this standard is applicable to information technology equipment, whose demand is constantly increasing, which is clear from statistical data that the IT industry's revenue is expected to touch US$ 227 billion in FY22 from US$ 196 billion in FY21.
